Selena
Her career included being a performer, singer-performer, and designer who broke boundaries in the music industry. She was both modern and traditional. She was a Mexican American who brought the two worlds in a distinct manner. Her sudden passing that shattered the rising star's image. That's what happens to many stars who pass away too early. To prevent her successes from going unnoticed her many admirers over the last few time have been inspired to do even more. The tragic death by shooting of Tejano singer Selena caused a resurgence in the Latino community that could be thought of as similar to the responses in the wake of the deaths of Elvis Presley and John Lennon. The singer was extremely popular in Latino communities across North America her music crossed borders of culture to impact people young and old alike. Selena might have been described by certain people as an Latina Madonna, but she's still an excellent example to follow. Selena's off-stage family values as well as her involvement in AIDS awareness campaigns make her a good example.
